Collection: Harunobu

Eight prints by Suzuki Harunobu, from the series Eight Parlour Views, c. 1766. In each, something from an ordinary room stands in for one of the Eight Views, a set of famous landscapes from Chinese poetry and painting: a tea stand for night rain, a lamp for evening glow, a towel rack for returning sails.

The poet Kyosen commissioned the series and gave it as a set, in a printed wrapper. Each towel is printed from an impression that carries his signature and seal.

Tea towels, approx. 70 × 50 cm. Printed and sewn in England. Free UK delivery.
